Assignments and Course Project

• Homework #1. Due: 9/15?/2026.
• Course project.
  • 1/4. Proposal due dates: 9/24/26.
  • 2/4. Progress report due dates: 10/29/26.
  • 3/4. Demo dates: last 2-3 weeks before the end of the semester (last demo date: 11/20/26).
  • 2&3/4. Presentation dates: last 4-5 weeks of classes (last presentation date: 12/2/26).
    Here is the tentative project presentation schedule.
  • 4/4. Report due dates: 12/8/26.

Online Course Material

• A syllabus following the standard SMU Simple Syllabus is on Canvas (a link embedded in an announcement about course logistics and a PDF file in the "Files" section), accompanied by two "Files" for the more detailed course contents description (including descriptions of all the modules) and SLO (students learning outcomes) brocken down into course-level objectives (CLOs) and module-level objectives (MLOs).
• Other information/material are also available on Canvas, including submission links for all (online) deliverables, announcements, addiitional papers, updated slides that integrate both the textbook and the papers, examples, sample exams, etc.
• Tentative schedule (more detailed than in the syllabus, with individual class breakdown).
• Information/material at my book website for Software Quality Engineering, including slides for all the chapters (these are older slides, see the updated/integrated ones on Canvas).
• List of additional references, including books, relevant papers, and papers from SMU/Tian group.
