Reddy Urimindi has more than thirteen years of professional experience in the areas of Telecommunication Research, Network Design, Technology Architecture Planning, Network Engineering/Deployment, Business Development, Sales and Marketing. Reddy is the Vice President of Marketing & Product Management at Neptec Optical Solutions and is leading the company’s marketing, product management and international sales activities.

Prior to joining Neptec Reddy was the Principal Network Consultant in the Product Management/Marketing organization at Celion Networks responsible for the engineering and technical marketing aspects of the DWDM products. Prior to joining Celion, he was the Vice President of Technical Marketing for IPCommunications, the largest independent broadband service provider in the South West which is based in Dallas. Dr. Urimindi was the founding employee of IP communications with key responsibilities in the areas of Network Architecture and Technical Marketing. Reddy was the Director of Network Architecture until the deployment of a 450 site DSL broadband network in four states (TX, OK, MO and KS).

Prior to IP Communications, he held various senior level technical and management positions at Lucent Technologies and MCI. While at Lucent, he was instrumental in building market share for the company in the data networking products. Reddy designed several service provider networks in the Central Region of the US. Dr. Urimindi was one of the key architects of MCI’s core optical network from concept to deployment. Dr. Urimindi currently holds four United States patents in the area of optical network architecture and restoration and several pending. He is a frequent writer in the industry magazines and a speaker at the major industry conferences.

He obtained his B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Nagarjuna University, India, M.Tech in Laser Technology/Optical Communication from Indian Institute of Technology @ Kanpur, India, Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University, and MBA in Corporate Finance from University of Dallas. Dr. Urimindi is a Senior Member of IEEE, and a member SCTE and OSA. Reddy is currently the treasurer of IEEE/LEOS Dallas section. Reddy enjoys playing golf and watching football.
