Project Team
Joseph Camp is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He joined the SMU faculty in 2009 after receiving his Ph.D. in ECE from Rice University. He received an M.S. at Rice and B.S. with honors from the UT-Austin, both in ECE. His research interests are wireless systems and drone communications, specifically building real systems at-scale and analyzing the performance within representative environments. His research team has performed over 200 million in-field wireless measurements around the world. He received the Ralph Budd Award for the best engineering thesis at Rice University (2010), the National Science Foundation CAREER Award (2012), the Golden Mustang Teaching Award (2014), and the Gerald J. Ford Research Fellowship (2021).
Dr. Joseph Camp
Dinesh Rajan is from the city of Chennai, (formerly Madras) located in Southern India. He completed his high schooling from Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Junior College, Madras. He received his B.Tech degree from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras in Electrical Engineering in 1997. He was also awarded the M.S and Ph.D degrees from Rice University, Houston, Texas both in the areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is currently the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Chair and Professor at Southern Methodist University (SMU), Dallas, Texas. His research interests include wireless communications and networking, information and coding theory, image and video communications, image formation and reconstruction. He received the NSF CAREER Award in 2006.
