TEXAS ECONOMIC THEORY CAMP

The 2025 Texas Economic Theory Camp will be held in SMU, Dallas on October 25-26 (Saturday-Sunday), 2025.

PROGRAM

 

The purpose of the camp is to foster greater interaction among researchers working in (pure or applied) economic theory in Texas, and to provide a forum for scholars to present their current research.  

 

Each institution may nominate up to three speakers (faculty and/or PhD students). The choice of speakers will be determined by the participating institution. Any paper (including work in progress) is welcome. 

 

The camp will begin just after 1 PM on October 25, Saturday, and end on Sunday October 26 (afternoon).

 

The program will include a dinner for participants on Saturday evening at the Graduate by Hilton.

Hotel Information

Here is a list of hotels near SMU campus. Many of them offer discounted rates to visitors to SMU (check the list).

The most conveniently located hotel is the Graduate by Hilton (formerly, the Lumen), just a few minutes’ walk to the conference venue. This hotel has set aside a block of rooms for our camp attendees at a discounted rate of $229 per night (for stay between October 24 and 26); please use THIS LINK to reserve a room online. The rate is guaranteed until September 26 (rooms are guaranteed until they sell out); after September 26, they will try to accommodate you at the discounted rate but they cannot guarantee it.  If you prefer to make the reservation over the phone, please call the hotel at 214-219-2400 and select Option 2 for new reservations; you will simply need to verbally request the “SMU Economics” group rate. 

The Beeman is another hotel within convenient walking distance (about 20 minutes).
