a) For the uninhibited enzyme, what are Vmax and Km ?
( Show correct units)
b) What are the apparent Vmax and Km, with the inhibitor present?
c) What type of inhibitor is it?
d) If [I] = 2.5 µM, what is Ki ?
3. Design a competitive inhibitor for an ATP hydrolyzing enzyme (ATP --> ADP + Pi). Draw the chemical structure of your inhibitor. (see p 339).
4. In an Eadie-Hofstee plot, v/S is plotted versus v. Plot the following data. Determine Vmax and Km? Use the proper units.
Note: v/S = (-1/Km) V + Vmax/Km
S (mM) | v (µM/min) |
0.08 | 32 |
0.1 | 38 |
0.16 | 53 |
0.2 | 62 |
0.4 | 89 |
0.8 | 110 |
