A complex salt bridge in a halophilic malate dehydrogenase

This is a dimeric enzyme. One subunit is colored cyan and one is colored magenta. An Arg from one subunit is ion-paired with two different Asp residues: one from the same subunit (4 residues away along an alpha helix) and one from the other subunit. Four possible H-bonds are shown in yellow (They are chosen on the basis of distance. All are less than 4 Å.)
