Allantoicase  : Jelly roll motif
Cartoons view of yeast allantoicase, a 2 domain protein. It catalyzes the conversion of allantoate into ureidoglycolate and urea, one of the final steps in the degradation of purines to urea.

The jelly roll motif is found in the red, C-terminal domain.

These are the 8 strands that make the motif. Strands one and eight are very short and do not interact much with the other strands. This fold can be seen as a series of paired beta-strands with connections that go straight across the top of the barrel.
