Coiled-coil

This is a heterodimeric coiled-coil. The helices are slightly kinked, so that they can grip the DNA at one end.

The alpha-helix is right-handed, but its coiled-coils are usually left-handed.

Looking at the end away from the DNA, the coiled-coil appears only slightly twisted. Type "rama" in the box to see how close all amino acids are to the expected torsion angles.
