Lactate Dehydrogenase

The apoenzyme is shown (lacking ligands).

When the substrates bind, the conformation changes. The green helix and loop will enclose the substrate.

Lactate Dehydrogenase with bound ligands

Pyruvate is colored yellow and NAD is colored blue.

Notice that the green loop in the folds around the NAD, and the green helix in the lower left becomes broken as it closes on the substrates.
