Crystal structure of AcrB multidrug efflux pump Protomer structure of AcrB, composed of 3 domains.


Transmembrane domain stucture; Each protomer contains 12 transmembrane alpha helices which interact with inner membrane of E Coli.
 
Pore domain structure; Composed of 4 subdomain structures.
 
Basic subdomain structure; 2 beta-strand-alpha-helix-beta-strand motifs are directly repeated and sandwiched with each other.

TolC docking domain structure; Composed of 2 subdomains containing 4 stranded mixed beta-sheet and 2 antiparallel beta-strands are placed parallel to a hairpin structure from the other half or from the other protomer.
