interaction. Notice that the Met-701 interacts with the
hydrophobic pocket of PCNA, which has never been seen in PIP box
interactions before. This residue has been shown to be important
in modulating binding affinity of Pol η to PCNA, so that it
avoids competition with the less error-prone DNA polymerases. |
