This antibody, mAb114, was actually isolated from a 1995 Kikwit Ebola survivor. mAb114 monotherapy fully protected monkeys from death and illness, even when administered five days after infection. The antibody binds portions of the Ebola virus glycoprotein (GP) trimer, inhibits GP binding to its receptor, and thereby prevents viral entry to the cell.
