Overall Structure of TIGAR

The Overall Secondary Structure of TIGAR

The overall structure is composed of 9 alpha helices and 7 beta strands. Helices are colored corn flower blue and sheets are colored orange.

Core Region of TIGAR

α/β/α sandwich forms the tryptic core fragment with six-stranded β sheet that is flanked by two helices on each side.β sheet are colored light blue and α helices are colored pale violet red.

Active site is enclosed by three-helices

Helices α5, α6 and short helix α1 together function as a cap to enclose active site in core region. Two bound phosphate molecules are shown in spacefilling view. Helices are colored lavender.
