(chapter 1) Tribalism
(section 2) among Contemporary Human Peoples Globally:
Descriptions, Predictions, Visions & Prescriptions
from SOCIAL SCIENCE & SOCIAL ETHICS FOR THE 21ST CENTURY: HERE INSTRUCTED BY NATIVE AMERICAN SOCIAL WISDOM by Theodore Walker, Jr.

chapter 1, section 2, Summary Statements:

theme: tribalism

circle of concern:
contemporary human peoples globally

description of recent history:
500 years of modern anti-tribalism &
500 years of traditional tribal resistance.

description of the present:
After 500 years of modernity, there are two main types of contemporary human peoples:
:o: traditional tribal peoples, and
:o: modern non-tribal peoples.
Traditional tribal peoples are continuing to resist the detribalizing and anti-tribal forces of modernity, and
modern non-tribal peoples continue to be insufficiently tribal and even anti-tribal.

evaluation:
The continuing anti-tribalism of modern existence is not good. Among contemporary human peoples globally, there is not enough righteous tribalism, and there is too much modern anti-tribalism.

sociological prediction:
Continuing with past (500 years) and present modern habits and behaviors will lead to increasing social difficulty for human peoples globally, and for human relations to other life.

prescription:
More righteous tribalisms.

vision (alternative prediction):
More righteous tribalisms will make a difference. More righteous tribalisms will contribute to an alternative and more favorable future, where well-being and prosperity is widely shared and humans are properly related (respect and reciprocity) to other life.
