Programming:
Using Microsoft Excel available on the PCs in your lab,
complete the following worksheet:
The worksheet will be a grading sheet/program,
consisting of grades for at least 10 students
(you can make up their names and raw scores).
The raw scores for each students include:
homework, exam#1, exam#2, and final,
all graded using an 100 point scale.
The weights are:
homework: 30%, exam#1: 20%, exam#2: 20%, and final: 30%,
You need to calculate the weighted score for each student.
Use the weighted score, assign letter grade
as follows:
"P" or "Pass" for those at or above (median - std.dev);
"F" or "Fail" for those below "P".
Standard test values:
None.
However, realistic numbers should be used. For example,
the average score should be in the 70's or 80's,
and the distribution should be scattered more or less like a
bell curve (normal distribution or T distribution).
What to turn in:
Print a hard copy of your final worksheet,
and turn it in to your TA during the lab,
or to me on or before the class on Thursday 10/14/99.
