Part 1: Discussion Questions

1. In addition to the verbal/auditory form of NLI focused on in our textbook, we also discussed the written/text form of NLI, and other variations, such as sign language and Braille. Pick two such NLI forms, and discuss their similarities and differences.

2. For the above UI variations, discuss what kind of of interaction devices (I.D.) you might want to use, and give at least a couple of concrete examples. How would you evaluation the usability of these I.D., and how would you evaluate usability of the NLI supported by these I.D.? Are they (the two versions of usability) the same or different? Why or why not?

Part 2: UI Design and Evaluation

Choose a concrete system that supports C&C (Communication and Collaboration).

1. Outline/describe this system.
2. How would you characterize this system?
3. Choose your I.S. and I.D. for your system/UI. (with justifications)
4. Design at least a high-level prototype of this systems.
5. Construct your evaluation strategy to evaluate the sytem/UI usability. Please be specific with your evaluation activities and related usability metrics to be used with them.
