Assignment
You project is a major part of your CSE 7343/5343.
It should be an individual project.
It will consist of the following parts:
-
Part I:
General process management.
-
Part II:
Resource management and deadlock handling.
A project demo is required after the completion of the first two parts
of your project.
-
Part III:
Individual study of advanced topics or case studies for graduate students.
Specific Requirements for 5343/7343 and Weighting
Parts I & II are required for all the (5343 and 7343) students;
while Part III is only required for CSE 7343 students.
The details are (will be) given in the related hypertext documents linked above.
The approximate weights for each parts are as follows:
- For undergraduate students: Part I, 1/3; Part II and demo: 2/3.
- For graduate students:
Part I, 1/4; Part II and demo: 2/4; and Part III, 1/4.
Grading Considerations
-
Even if you program is not working,
you should submit your design/code/documentation/etc for grading.
In this case, the maximal points you can get is 5/10.
-
Even if your program works exactly as specified in the assignment,
you will get at least 7/10,
the rest depends on design/documentation/etc.
-
Try to use good CS/SE practices,
such as modular design,
good documentation, etc.
-
For the in-class students,
please turn in a hard copy of your project.
However, you should have the soft-copy ready whenever requested by your
grader or the instructor.
