Prof. Jeff Tian (tian@lyle.smu.edu)

  1. (4 points) List the input and output devices appropriate for each of the major interaction styles we covered in our class. Can they be used as usability measurement instruments/devices as well? If so, how? If not, what additional measurement instruments/devices can you suggest?

  2. (2 points) Someone suggested that C&C (Communication and Collaboration) can be viewed as a way to further the goal of UU (universal usability). What is your view about this?

  3. (4 points) In the research work from SMU, Web usability and usage are often tied to log data at server logs. Eye tracking data have been used in various research as well, such as in (Bera, 2016) in the list of interesting/relevant papers from our class website. What other types of data can be collected from usability testing and other activitites through the UID process? And, how can they be used in evaluating and improving UID?

Due Date:

4/21/20 for all students.
