CSE 8317 (Spring, 2003): Software Reliability and Safety
Information about Student Presentations
-
Every student must make at least one of the following presentations:
-
An individual study presentation about a paper related to SRE or SSE.
All the presentations (including presentations by the video students)
must be done on or before 4/9/03.
-
A project presentation in one of the last three weeks of classes.
In-class students must make their presentations on 4/9/03
or 4/16/03, because 4/23/03 is reserved for video students.
-
Of course you are welcome to make both a individual study presentation
and a project presentation.
However, if you choose to do only one, my suggestion is as follows:
-
If you choose an application type of project,
I'd prefer that you do a project presentation instead of an individual
study presentation,
primarily because of the new results that you are going to share with the class.
-
If you choose a term paper for your project,
I have a slight preference to have you present the individual study paper,
where you can go into more depth on a single paper.
(And,
you don't have to compete for time slots with other project presentations.)
-
Your presentation should normally last between 15-30 minutes.
If you absolutely need more than 30 minutes,
please contact me ahead of time to schedule your presentation.
-
Try to schedule your presentation as early as possible
by sending an e-mail to me
with your presentation title, desired date, and minutes needed.
-
For video/NTU students living in the DFW metro area,
I would appreciate it if you can come to campus and make your
presentation in class.
-
For the other video/NTU students,
I prefer to have you videotape your own presentation and send it
to me to show in class.
If you have real difficulties with it,
presentation slides with detailed scripts are also acceptable.
