This project considers the existing facility layout at Landell Manufacturing, Inc. based in Houston, Texas. Landell provides a large array of specialty pipe flange fittings. The problems foreseen and examined extensively in this study include facility design layout, material handling, size of the required workforce, and the possibility of adding inventory stock. At this time, Landell Manufacturing is designed with a process layout, requiring six machinists at full capacity and excess material handling. Also, Landell currently operates under ``just-in-time" manufacturing and the possibility of adding an inventory stock is considered.
