CSE 8317 (Spring, 2011): Software Reliability and Safety
Information about Presentations for Campus/Distant Student
-
There are some differences in student presentation requirements
due to the different format (executive vs. campus/distance).
-
As I mentioned in the course syllabus, active participation is of
critical importance to this course.
Besides active participation in discussion in class and
via e-mail/blackboard,
presentations are expected
of every student, as described below.
-
Every student must make two presentations:
-
An individual study presentation about a paper related to SRE,
SSE, or the analysis techniques.
All the presentations
must be done on or before 4/13/11.
The choices of presentation topics include:
- Articles/chapters you studied for your hw#A.
- Papers you studied as part of your hw#R or hw#S.
- Other papers, with approval of instructor.
- Selected book chapters
from Lyu/SREhandbook etc., with approval of instructor.
Be sure to let me know of your choices as early as possible and
get the approval.
Normally we want to avoid multiple presentations of the same paper/chapter.
-
A project presentation on 4/20/11, 4/27/11 or 5/4/11.
-
You are welcome to make additional individual study presentations.
-
Try to schedule your presentation as early as possible
by sending an e-mail to me
with your presentation title (give full reference information, please),
desired date, and minutes needed.
-
For distance students living in the DFW area,
please try to come to class to give at least one of your presentations.
-
For distance students living outside of the DFW area,
you may record your presentation in various ways
(such as PPT with sound, DVD, etc.)
and send the presentation material to me before your scheduled
presentation day.
If you really have difficulty with the above,
a less desirable option is to submit your presentation slides
accompanies by detailed notes (speaker's notes or scripts),
and we can try to show that in class.
