Modeig98 Installation Instructions

  1. Verify that you have downloaded the correct file for your operating system. (XX refers to the version number. Y refers to Beta vs. Release - b = Beta, r = Release) For example, m98w11r.zip refers to Modeig98 Release 1.1 for Windows.

    UNIX based Alpha m98uXXY.tar.gz
    Mac PowerPC m98pXXY.hqx
  1. Use the uncompression program for your operating system to uncompress the files into the given directory. The suggested directory is 'C:\modeig98'. This is suggested for pc users to better interface the Windows GUI. (NOTE: If at all possible, DO NOT use any directory whose name is longer than 8 characters for the PC!)

  1. Verify that the correct files have been uncompressed into the desired directory. Files that should be included in the distribution are as follows; (if any files are missing, please see the comment page on how to contact the authors.

  1. That is it! The modeig98.exe (for PC) or modeig98 (for UNIX-alpha or Macintosh) is the program - execute it to start.
