  1. Required: Barr, Production Systems Engineering 2015. Over 680 pages of slides, readings, software documentation, homework problems, and previous exams. Around $55  plus any shipping costs (comb bound). Available for purchase or order from Alphagraphics, adjacent to the SMU campus.  Campus students: bring to class on the first day, Aug. 25th, if possible.

Optional: An older textbook with clear, competent coverage of production systems topics: Joseph S. Martinich, Production and Operations Management: An Applied Modern Approach, John Wiley, ISBN 0-471-54632-1 (not in bookstore, good used prices on Web). Example online sources:

    (Note: apparently there are several ISBNs, for the same book. Some are for paperback versions, but Martinich has written only one such text.)
